“It’s Okay to Be Selfish.”
The Lesson I Practice Now As An Adult
Kindness is something that we can be taught as people while we are growing up and unfortunately, on the other side of things, people somehow put aggressiveness and being mean as a symbol of strength.
Is the loudest voice or the strongest shout always the most correct?
Some people take kindness for weakness and will exploit that vulnerability in so many ways from lower pay scales to insults, conversational exclusions, and much more.
It’s a wonder why some people will always have to outwardly put their mean side up front. The world does not reward kindness as much as it does penalize it sometimes. Finding a community of supportive onlookers is always something we want. It’s like: if I were very hungry, who are the top five friends on my entire social network that I could rely on to bring me some McDonald’s chicken nuggets with barbeque sauce and three cookies?
The list seems to shrink each year. I hope everyone has somebody as such.
