It’s Not Me, It’s You | Write Here Week 4

Creative writing prompts to help your words flow ✍🏽

Hey there, writers!

It’s been such a joy reading your creative (and often relatable) interpretations of the Write Here prompts week to week. I recently picked out some of my favorites, but it would be even better if you all showed each other some love!

After you’ve written your own awesome Write Here piece, take a look at the “Writehere” tag and read some of the amazing stories others have come up with. Follow each other, clap, and post responses! Not only will this help with the engagement on your articles, but it’ll be really encouraging to your fellow writers.

It’s hard to get started writing, but sometimes, it’s even harder to share your words once you get them out. Creative writing is brave writing, and you all deserve flowers for your efforts.

Share the love, and let’s get into this week’s prompts!

This week’s prompts:

When did you first realize it wasn’t you, it was them?

When did you realize that your romantic partner wasn’t treating you right? Or that your bestie wasn’t the best? Is there a family member you will just never get along with? Did you give them a second (or third) chance? Did they deserve it, or did you deserve better? Tell us how you stood up for yourself and/or moved on. Tag “Writehere.”

What’s your low-stakes hot take?

Hot take! Every hot take doesn’t have to be that serious. Do you have strong opinions about Olive Garden breadsticks? Is there a movie everyone loves that you actually hate (*cough* The Notebook *cough*)? We want to know what you feel really strongly about. Share your not-so-controversial opinions and tag “Writehere.”

What are you tired of?

Your job? Your kids? Your neighbors? The pandemic? These Write Here writing prompts? Yourself? Tell us about it and share how you’re pushing through. Tag “Writehere.”
