It’s Not A Good Time To Visit Washington, D.C.
Weather has been an issue as well

Let’s hope the U.S. Capitol will be safe this year
A year ago on January 6, 2021, the U.S. Capitol was under siege. As Trump supporters gathered by the thousands in the Nation’s Capital City and then marched to the Capitol, an unprecedented chain of events happened.
Of course, Donald Trump takes no blame for what occurred even though he told his followers at a nearby rally that they should march to the Capitol and protest the election results which declared Joe Biden to be the President of the United States.

The weather has been quite bad over the past few days in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. People were stranded in their cars for hours.
When we lived in Virginia and I worked in Washington, D.C. for thirteen years, the area basically shut down during bad snowstorms. The government offices closed, and people stayed home as much as possible. They don’t get a lot of heavy snowstorms so they are not prepared for them as much as some other areas of the United States. The recent storm seems to have taken people by surprise.
Maybe a combination of the weather and the threat of violence recurring on the one-year anniversary of the U.S. Capitol insurrection will keep people away from Washington, D.C. and the East Coast this year on that infamous date.
No one should want it to happen again, but there are those who likely would want a repeat of the historical event which took place there a year ago.
