It’s My First Official Month On Medium!

I signed up on Medium for the first time on January 28th. Today marks the first month of being a writer and member on Medium.

It’s gone very well so far — so much so that I am shocked at how quickly writers can earn on here. Being unemployed for most of January and February, I had the time to sit down and build my Medium profile, writing every single day (sometimes more), interacting with people, and discovering some great posts.

I’ve done my best to read, clap, and comment on everyone who’s interacted with my posts while searching out new people to support. If my read helps you get closer to your earnings, reads, or following goal then it’s a win-win.

I made $35 for my first two weeks on Medium!

This shocked me because my original goal for the first month was to earn $40 and reach 300 followers. By the time tomorrow rolls around I’ll have more than doubled that! I did not see this happening when I first signed up!

I like how Medium is geared more to business-minded people. You can come here and write about anything, even stats, and most people will be happy for you and even offer some tips. I love the communal atmosphere to help others win and reach their goals.

I will be posting my February earnings on March 1st which is my first official month here. I hinted a few paragraphs ago that my earnings more than DOUBLE my original goal of $35. There’s still a day left (the 29th), so I want to see if I get a boost or if reads increase for the final day of February. I cannot wait to report my first month’s earnings to you!

It’s very motivating to see posting consistently and interacting with others pays off.

I have reached nearly 600 followers now, but I don’t think that’s responsible for my reads and earnings. I think it’s people paying kindness forward — if you read, clap, and comment on their posts they will do the same for you. I reciprocate interactions as best I can.
