It’s Midnight and I Still Haven’t Completed My Self-Help Routine
Another losing battle in the day of a self-help warrior

It’s midnight and I’m still not done with my day.
I’m going to finish up this journal entry I’m writing and then do my last set of meditations.
I started at 5 am this morning with my morning routines. Robin Sharma said that 5 am would change my life. Another personal development guru told me that I could have a miracle morning if I exercised, affirmed, journaled, and drank water.
My morning routine takes me about 3 hours. Then I had to do my daily self-care exercises: yoga, tai chi, an energy healing practice and sound healing work. This brought me to about 10 am.
Then I have my daily self-compassion exercises where I check in with myself, listen to ocean sound recordings, and do my breathwork.
After a self-improvement diet lunch which includes 12 cups of water, 8 servings of vegetables, and 3 blended fruit smoothies, I worked on my goal setting and visualization exercises for the day, for the month, and for the year.
With my caffeinated evening tea, my one vice, I did my forgiveness and gratitude work. I am extra thankful today so it took me an hour on my gratitude journal. I am thankful for my gratitude journal.
I then walked to a local hotel and had dinner there. I walked around the hotel like I owned it. This was suggested to me by the Chicken Soup book guy. He said live your life like it’s already manifested. So I did.
I walked around the hotel as if I owned it. Faked that I owned a luxury car and took it for a joyride. The valet attendant didn't even bother checking if I was the owner. I ate at the fancy hotel restaurant and billed it to the room. No, I don’t have an account or a room but they will probably only figure that in the morning.
Finally, got home to do my networking calls. They say you are the sum of the best 5 people you know so I called the 5 most influential people that I know and complimented them. I find out what they’re working on and asked them how I could help them. 3 hung up. 1 person said to never call again.
The fifth person listened intently to everything I said and agreed. He wants to meet up to suggest some multi-level marketing vitamins that I could purchase next week. He says this is the real secret to health. I’ll never have to eat healthy again and this vitamin will transform my life. I can’t wait.
I drank water again. Did a meditation again and finished my late-night workout session. I wrote notes about the session after the session. I finally got to my fourth journal session of the day and it’s already midnight.
I may have another hour of self-love work, belief correction work and values-alignment work to do before I call it a day.
Self-help is a never-ending battle against yourself
I no longer have time to live the life that I want but I am working on building the life of my dreams.
This means I don’t have time to complete my self-help routine each day. The more I listen, read, watch, and get coached, the less time I have for everything else in my life.
I no longer have time to talk to family or friends. I no longer can fit my work into my daily life.
I’ve given up entertainment, leaving the house, or doing any household chores.
If I’m not doing my self-improvement plan for the day, I just don’t feel like it’s a complete day.
Also, the more information and tips I take in, the more time I need to commit to self-help. I started reading this blog online about personal development. Every article gives me three takeaways and five daily tips to do.
I don’t know if the people who give out this advice have improved their life but it sure is improving mine.
Do I have time for friends, family and work? No.
Am I a self-improvement machine? Yes!
Do I have time to live? No.
Is my life improving for the better? Absolutely!
You too can become the best version of yourself
I try to do the best I can every day to become the best version of myself. Some days I win and some days I fail.
You can have everything you want if you’re just willing to put your mind to it.
Dedication and persistence is the name of the game.
You may want to become the best version of yourself too.
You may not have time to live your life, have normal relationships and work who needs all these things when you have the best version of yourself.
Your self-care and self-improvement routine might be excessive but is there any line to draw on your personal growth?
You can become the person you were meant to be if you stepped up your personal development game too.
It’s almost 1 am and I am almost done for the day.
If you need a coach, call me.
I’m available for the next four hours.
Tomorrow is another day and I plan to win it.
Will you join me?
I love all the self-help writers that I read but anyone a little burnt out on self-help ? Leave a comment below, friends.
