It’s Easy and Free To Be Kind, So Why Deprive Yourself of It?
A small gesture can brighten your day and that of someone else
Today I went to the pharmacy because my parents needed some medicine.
The store is quite cramped and the pharmacist’s assistant was absent. He was therefore alone to serve customers.
The person in front of me needed a lot of explaining. She never read the instructions for use. Too long. Cut the pills? Too difficult. There is always a piece that jumps off and ends up under a piece of furniture. Taking medication on an empty stomach? She can’t swallow anything until she drinks her coffee. So if she takes her pills with her coffee, she’s no longer fasting, right? (Hmm).
There were six of us waiting behind this lady when the front door opened a little, revealing a small wheel. In reality, it was a twin stroller with which the young mother was trying to cross the threshold. She was holding another child by the hand, and he was grumbling.
Spontaneously, I grabbed the stroller by the back of the wheels until it crossed the threshold. Then, I pushed myself to the side to allow this young mother to be served quickly.
As a thank you, I received a kiss on the right cheek from the little boy, who was in a bad mood. And of course, a big smile from the young mother.
A small gesture that costs nothing, elementary to carry out.
And you? Do you ever make any?
