SPECIAL EDITION GIFT CARD

It’s Boss’s Day in the USA

We appreciate the hell outta Cap’n Susan B today and every day

In my former life as a corporate worker bee, for many years I had an excellent, hands-off manager. Our group used to go out for coffee or lunch on Boss’s Day and present her with a hobby-related gift card. Wish we could do that with Susan! Oh wait. If Susan turned her humor hobby into why you and I are here now, this newsletter is the perfect gift card.

What is Boss’s Day?

It’s a reminder to show appreciation for your boss, which supposedly improves relationships between managers and employees. Per Wikipedia,

Patricia Bays Haroski registered “National Boss’ Day” with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1958. She was working as a secretary for State Farm Insurance Company in Deerfield, Illinois, for her father at the time and chose October 16 … her father’s birthday.

Like Outlaws need help to get along with Susan! Living in constant fear of walking the plank is grrreat for morale.

We’re celebrating on Friday because the 16th falls on a weekend in 2021. No “meaningless Hallmark Holiday” here at MuddyUm! Susan’s faithful Mudditors are volunteers, prompted by their feelings for or about our Outlaw Captain to write the stories herein.

Links are of the friend variety, freely accessible to all readers.

What bosses go through

It’s hard to keep secrets from Our Captain, especially when one of the group is an outlier, genderwise, with a strong experimental streak. We hope this newsletter is a surprise, at least.
