It’s Almost My Birthday
And that of my birthday-born daughter
It’s almost my birthday
and that of my quarter of
century creation
a chance conception of my
dreams
the silver in a
cloud of magenta silence
of walls
the aching relieved
I’d be lying if I said
I loved sharing my birthday
with her;
but complaints now
are trivial
This poem was inspired by another upcoming birth day which I share with my first-born who came on my twenty-fifth birthday and IdeaStream #9. Thanks to Xavier Van Holde for the words.
