Summarize

It wasn’t that way at Johns Hopkins University when I was there in 1966-’70. That was admittedly in a prior era, an eon ago, but faculty had gravitas and students had respect.

We had respect for and the respect of the faculty and administration. We also had power. The power that attends respect. We had a student administered honor system that reached every aspect of university life. With power came responsibility and the desire to live up to expectations.

That was the leading edge of the Baby Boomer generation.

However in the world did we get here from there? How did we fail to instill those values in our children and grandchildren?

I have no answer only sorrow.
