It Was Fun While It Lasted, but I Gotta Sleepnough

Four newly coined words for anyone that cares

Sleepnough: I’ve had enough, it’s time to sleep. Photo by Arthur Savary on Unsplash

This challenge gets you to come up with new words. Eli Snow tagged in the the challenge and I tracked it to the highly rated Daniel G. Clark before arrived at the originator Tree Langdon ♾️

Here are my new words.

1. Aweshortsome:

(adjective) This is when you feel awesome, but you sell yourself short just in case the other person does not think so.

My last article was aweshortsome.

2. Underseated

(verb) Describes a situation where everybody understands the topic being discussed, but you don’t quite get it, so you seat down quietly hoping noone called you out

Phew Jim, I was underseated at that finance meeting, what was the conclusion?

3. Waketapping

(verb) An activity carried out by extremely shortsighted people when they wake up. They cannot see, so they search for their pair of glasses by tapping the bedside table.

Aaarrgh, I waketapped everywhere, and still could not find my glasses

4. Castlesight

(verb) The act of driving to a place 30 miles away when you want to test your eyesight in a pandemic with strict lockdown rules

Usage: Boris Johnson replied rather crossly to the interviewer. “He did not break any rules, he went castlesighting!”

This is a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I could go on, but I better sleepnough as its almost 2:00am.

Here’s Eli’s article that inspired mine.

And I think this was the first one from Tree Langdon ♾️

I have enjoyed articles from a number of writers today, so I’d like to tag a few of them for this challenge. Make up your new words, let’s enrich the English language.

Jim Latham R Tsambounieri Talarantas M.X. Christopher P.G. Barnett Scott Hisey Heidi Malone Anouska Parr Tran Nguyen Akshay Ravi
