It’s never about luck

And it never will be.

A lot of people believe in luck.

That you need luck to become successful.

That you need luck to write a bestselling book.

That you need luck to build a successful company.

That you need luck to land that dream job.

I think this is BS. None of these things are created by luck.

At least not in the traditional sense of luck where you sit on the couch and watch the magic happen.

All of these things are the result of exposing yourself to opportunities over and over again.

They are the result of creating opportunities for yourself over and over again.

They are the result of exposing yourself to luck over and over again.

Just like many successful people will tell you that they were just at the right place at the right time. That they were just lucky.

What they don’t tell you though is that they were either everywhere or knew exactly where they had to be so that luck would find them. And this takes a lot of time. And practice. And patience.

The thing is this:

Whenever you do your thing long enough and iterate every once in a while to correct the course, to include the things you learned along the way, it’ll only be a matter of time until you get it right.

So it’s never really about luck. Or being lucky.

What it’s really about is to create and expose yourself to opportunities over and over again until one magic day it all starts to works out.

But when you stop, when you stop creating opportunities, when you stop exposing yourself to luck over and over again and wait for it to magically find you, it’ll never find you.

So whenever someone tells you they were just lucky, ask them how long they were working towards that luck.

Ask them to tell you the real story. And not just a good story..
