The story is inspired by a prompt from Lucy Dan, which asks about the desired impact one wishes to have on others both immediately and in the long term. The author expresses a hope to encounter more narratives that celebrate the positive influence individuals can have on each other's lives.

I love this lyric: ‘and I hope kindness comes your way’ of Someday Soon by Alexi Murdoch.

I remember this post I saw about a girl who was on her way to commit suicide but decided to stop for a drink in some fast-food restaurant. Her eyes were red and swollen, she looked upset. The person attending the place for no reason apparently changed her drink for the biggest one and when the girl noticed, the employee told her not to worry, it was on the house.

That small thing. Changing a small soda to a bigger one. Stopped the girl from killing herself.

The employee was a stranger who didn’t know anything about this girl and still wanted to try to ease a little of her pain.

I always wish people that kindness comes their way, but hopefully, I would be the one bringing the kindness too.

Inspired by the original story and prompt of the week of our dear Lucy Dan:
