It Is Ok If You Don’t Understand Something at First
My perspective changed
I practice a few rituals in the morning that help me integrate and live my BEM (Body, Emotions, Mind) model. One such ritual is saying Affirmations. I have observed that by saying Affirmations loudly in front of the mirror, I get to see myself, hear my voice, watch my body language and feel my feelings. To me, it serves as perfect coordination of how I am physically showing up, emotionally feeling, and mentally present to what I am affirming.
I started saying affirmations several years back when I lost my job and embraced self-employment as a blessing in disguise. Saying these affirmations have tremendously helped me move through major life transformations from mother to empty nester to mother-in-law to grandmother smoothly. In the professional arena, saying affirmations have helped me be determined with grit and gratitude when expectations are not met.
By saying an affirmation about the word “Authority” from the book “Meditations to heal your life” by Louise L Hay, I realized that as I started loving and respecting “Authority” more.
“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.”― Carl Gustav Jung
Isn’t that true? It is like seeing a reflection of our behavior, I guess. As I read that quote, I became curious and said to myself:
“Hey Lalitha, let us find out how Louise L Hay describes the word “Understanding” as a suggested affirmation in her book “Meditations to heal your life” by Louise L Hay”
Now let us read the affirmation together. As you do so, internalize it, and check in to see how you feel.
The more I understand, the more my world expands. I’m constantly increasing my understanding. I am teachable. Every day I open my awareness within myself. I’m glad to be alive and so grateful for the good that has come to me. Life to me is education. Every day I open my mind and my heart, as a child does, and I discover new insights, new people, new viewpoints, and new basis to understand what’s happening around me and within me. My human mind may not always understand it first. Understanding seems to require lots of love and patience. My new mental skills are helping me feel more at ease with all the changes in the incredible School of Life here on planet Earth.
Affirmation for the word “Authority” In the Book Meditations to heal your life” by Louise L Hay
The words mentioned in Bold font impacted me the most. After saying the above affirmation consistently, I am becoming:
Even-tempered and tolerant
Open-minded to other people’s viewpoints
Observant of how I respond to changes.
Okay if I don’t understand something at first instant.
Teachable.
Now it is your turn:
How has saying the above affirmation affected you? Did you get an aha moment or a new Insight?
