It Feels Good To Pay It Forward
Keep reading, Keep writing, Keep sharing
Meditation was the gateway to my writing practice, leading to my current journey as a writer. Writing has forced me to become comfortable with my deepest and most hidden feelings thus helping me learn about myself in a new way.
We all want to share our deep introspective thoughts but fear being ignored or wrongly interpreted. Every writer needs a community, especially as a beginner else we can feel lost.
My first writing prompt - ‘Today I noticed’
I love going on nature walks and observing the world around me. You can find beauty and inspiration everywhere you look. Every day after my morning walk I wrote a short story on this prompt.
I observed and absorbed with all my senses. Beautiful gardens, trees strong yet humble, houses, morning walkers, sunrises, the morning sky, and birds chirping. It felt as if everything was craving to be noticed.
I became curious as to what truly brings me joy and in the process, I discovered myself, my dreams, and my values.
Being an introvert it’s never been easy to communicate my deepest desires. Writing made that happen and I am so grateful for that.
We all need to express
Some lucky ones can do it through their work, others do it through their passion, while many others grapple to find an outlet - I was that for the longest time.
The most important connection -is the one we have with ourselves. And somewhere transitioning into adulthood we lose that connection.
Until one day some force pushes us back to it and we realize what was missing from our life.
I wish we could define adulthood better- yes it comes with responsibilities but should it come at the cost of squashing our deepest wishes?
No one should ever lose their childlike wonder.
Medium is a community like no other
Medium helped me become consistent thanks to the amazing people who read and responded to my words.
I am grateful to be surrounded by writers who inspire and support each other. A group of people to bounce ideas off, ask questions and learn from and get feedback.
By giving back our time to we create a cycle of generosity, love and reciprocity and it comes back multifold.
As the saying goes, “You get what you give ”
It’s a powerful thing if we practice in everything we do. This post by Sahil Patel was my inspiration for this article
