It Doesn’t Look Like You Think It Does

People from all walks of life and circumstances are looking for the same thing. They are tired of oppressive religion and the fake requirements of Evangelical Christianity. A realness is coming out of the masses.
Modern-day Christians have left the Love of God behind. They have forgotten who they’re supposed to be. They’ve become preoccupied with politics and self-preservation, and they’ve peddled fear and gotten drunk off political power. They are preparing for an end time that they are attempting to create.
There is an end time. It’s the end of an age – an age of oppression by people who claim to know rightness, but only advance their own agenda for greed and power.
There are people leaving their churches in droves. They are looking for something real. They want the real God, not the god of religion and requirements. People are weary of making men rich while they starve. They are tired of empty prophecies and arrogant prophets.
It’s growing on the outskirts. They are the curious and the outcasts of society that the religious wouldn’t dare to touch. They’re not interested in loud worship and wealth. They are interested in authenticity and love. They have compassion for the fringe and the confused. They crave understanding and transparency. Their hearts hurt for the misunderstood.
The jesus that American Christians are peddling is not the real Jesus. It’s an angry version. It’s the tamped down neat, clean version that has black or white answers. Their jesus fits in rules and regulations and requirements.
Real Jesus changed water into wine, befriended prostitutes and tax collectors and went to parties. Real Jesus cared for the poor and oppressed and called out injustice. Real Jesus broke the religious rules and caused distress for the system.
Those that have left the church and are craving something real are on the right track. They are comfortable with the mystery and aren’t making up answers. They are excited for the journey. They are seeking truth and finding real love in unusual ways.
God is talking to them.
