It Doesn’t Come Peacefully
It doesn’t come quietly. It’s a rocky, noisy place.
Where all the things we see are in constant motion.
The ground is always shifting, giving way and taking back every single inch of space. It doesn’t come quietly. Everywhere they go, they see a different side of themselves, always changing and trying to figure out what it means to have their flaws right there in plain sight for everyone to see. Every day is another chance for them to change what it looks like inside their head.
At the beginning of every single day, when they wake up, They feel anxious and unsure because they know that there’s so much out there, All kinds of beautiful things waiting for them to realize what it is that makes them happy. They spend a lot of their time just thinking about all the different ways that they can change their lives for the better. It doesn’t come quietly. It never will.
It will never be safe or settled. It’s a place where they realize what it means to find someone who makes them want to be better than they are.
The power of poetry is in the way it tells a story. It’s an internal struggle that takes place on paper — an outward projection of an individual mind. “I wake up and have my coffee and think about all the different ways that I can make myself happy,” an individual says.
Poetry is so much more than words on a page; it’s a way to escape from all of the things that are preventing you from being happy.
