It Becomes Meaningless
When the innocent expectation of a child dies in us getting the toys has no meaning
A child who grows up without any playthings have no use for the lovely toys donated, as playing with them is meaningless for a child grownup.
After the crops are burned by wildfires coming of rain has no meaning for the hopeless eyes of the farmer looking at the ashes flying in his field with the wind.
War and calamity-ravaged countries can’t think of prosperity before finding shelter and food for the broken citizenry, before that thinking of wealth looks meaningless.
For refugees fancy clothes only are coverings their beauty is only but meaningless. All the gourmet food donated only fills empty stomachs the esthetics are meaningless.
After all the bombs, broken homes, lost lives, broken trust and lost loved ones, and living in your own lands, consoling words of the leaders and sympathizers are but meaningless.
Today in this empathy drained and a world with no trust’ words of all leaders, clergy seem nothing but meaningless.
Remembering Hindi poet Dinker I remembered his poem “रह जाता कोई अर्थ नही (There is meaning left)”
Thank you, dear reader, and thanks to Denise Larkin for bringing it to you.
