It Awaits

Like An Old Song- A Villanelle

The forest waits for me, I could sing a song of love, For I glide, and wait and see.

What is hidden beyond each tree, With a storm up above, The forest waits for me.

As the sun begins to flee, I see pigeons, I see a dove, For I glide, and wait and see.

And I dream of feeling free. With every kick, and push or shove, The forest waits for me.

The sky makes it’s final decree, And it cries and cries thereof, For I glide, and wait and see.

And I know what is to be, I remove my frightened glove, The forest waits for me. For I glide, and wait, and see.
