‘Israel uses sexual exploitation to subjugate Palestinians’

When Hamas and its allies attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, the attack immediately made headlines around the world. In response, the merciless campaign of genocide that began against the people of Gaza continues to this day.

However, the embattled right-wing government of Binyamin Netanyahu suspected that the attack was a gift from nature because, in the first place, being at war allowed the government to ignore its political problems. This New York Times article also referred to ‘Zaka’. Zaka is the same Israeli group that spread the false news about the beheading of children. Interestingly, Zaka Group co-founder Meshi-Zahav was accused of ‘horrific sexual abuse of men, women and children’, which led to his suicide. The New York Times also started a podcast series on the same article, which was soon discontinued when it became clear that the information it was based on was incorrect.

However, these claims have been repeated to this day, most recently with Hillary Clinton calling Israel’s criminal actions a ‘right to self-defense’. Social media is another source of disinformation, with dozens of Israelis posting a video claiming that Hamas fighters are taking out female hostages for sexual exploitation. After the translation, it became clear that the Hamas fighter was saying, ‘No, no, this woman is a hostage, let her go.’ Go back to your place’.

Similar accusations were made by the pro-Israel Moroccan journalist Mahdi Baladi when Israeli hostage Maya Regev was released. Recently, an activist named Sandra Afrah claimed on the French TV channel ‘C News’ that a 13-year-old hostage was raped by 67 people, after which she had to abort her pregnancy. Sandra Afrah later took to Twitter to retract her false claim, saying she was ‘overwhelmed by emotion’. She did not even clarify for which claim she was apologizing while TV channels repeated Sandra’s false claim again and again.

Now, finally, the evidence of rape and organized sexual exploitation in Palestine is coming out, but the Western media will not talk about this evidence, because this time the perpetrator is Israel, while the victims are Palestinians. UN experts have said there have been numerous incidents where “Palestinian women and girls in custody are subjected to various forms of sexual abuse” while male Israeli officers strip women and search them. At least two Palestinian female prisoners were allegedly raped, while others were allegedly threatened with rape and sexual violence. Photos of Palestinian women in ‘degrading conditions’ by Israeli soldiers have also been posted online.

Lama Khater, a Palestinian woman and mother of five, released by Israel in November, says she was raped and threatened to kill her family during the first interrogation. She and other female prisoners were sexually abused while being deprived of basic necessities like sanitary pads.

Palestinian activist Ahad Tamimi also faced similar conditions in detention, but perhaps because of his high-profile status, he did not face much worse conditions. Certainly the Israelites were not held back because of their age because age has never been a hindrance to them.

In 2011, a Palestinian NGO complained to the US State Department about the rape of a 15-year-old boy by Israeli soldiers. Israel responded by declaring the NGO a terrorist organization and sealing its offices.

The latest UN report confirms all the accusations that Palestinians have been making for years that Israel has resorted to sexual exploitation and humiliation to subjugate Palestinians since the Nakba. There is evidence that former Israeli soldiers have spoken about how they sexually abused Palestinian women and girls.
