Israel-Hamas War: Correcting Myths of Pro-Palestinian Protesters (Part 1)
Just read their signs, the truth is obvious to anyone familiar with the facts — rather than baseless propaganda.

Muslim, Arab and Palestinian activists recently staged a major demonstration outside the White House to voice their dismay about the Israel-Hamas War.
In short, there were some baffling propaganda signs waived by the participants.
First, kudos to the protesters on the originality of their signs. Perhaps they hoped that no one would analyze their true meaning — you know, for the actual facts, which were nowhere to be found.
It appears that many young people in the crowd came from local college campuses, such as George Washington University, which is a few short blocks away. Also nearby is American University and a few other DC-based colleges. The University of Maryland’s flagship campus in College Park is just outside the nation’s capital.
Some of the signs left me mystified…
Following are four of the slogans (photo above) and my perspective on them as a strongly pro-Israel Jewish American who favors a negotiated two-state solution:
- “SAVE GAZA”
- “ITS NOT A WAR IF ONLY ONE SIDE HAS AN ARMY”
- “THE POWER OF THE PEOPLE IS STRONGER THAN THE PEOPLE IN POWER”
- “PALESTINE WILL BE FREE”
Let’s address the “SAVE GAZA” sign first. The real question is this: Save Gaza from who?
The demonstrators certainly can’t be referring to the same Hamas terrorist organization which committed well planned and Iran-funded barbaric and heinous atrocities against innocent Israeli children, women and men (some elderly).
These atrocities included shooting them dead in the heads as family members watched who would then likewise be maliciously murdered in cold blood.
Yes, these are the same Hamas terrorist militants who are proxies of the repressive Islamic Republic of Iran, and who have controlled the Gaza Strip since 2007.
Yes, that’s the same fundamentalist cleric led country with a “morality police” that murders women for speaking out about civil and human rights which don’t exist in Iran.
Yes, that’s also the same Iran with a extremist government which promotes crowds in the street chanting, “Death to America” and burning the American flag as rabid onlookers cheer.
And yes, it’s the same Iran that has threatened to “wipe Israel off the map.” I hope Iran recalls that Israel has the most high-tech army and weapons in the Middle East.
So it’s good to know that these protesters stand against America, against democracy, women’s rights, human rights, and with the regime of Iran instead — which continues to order military strikes on US troops in the region.
Were the pro-Palestine protesters referring to the same Hamas terrorists who reportedly put an Israeli baby inside an oven after raiding a private home and slaughtering an innocent family?
It’s obvious to any Jewish person that the intentionally cruel message by Hamas per the oven was to some of the six million Jewish prisoners whom Hitler ordered dead at Nazi concentration camps during the Holocaust — before survivors were ultimately liberated by victorious American troops at the close of World War II in 1945.
And what about the Hamas video streaming of the October 7 massacre of Israelis showing decapitations and mutilations? (about 1,400 citizens reportedly killed) And what about raping and torturing Israeli women?
Are those the same Hamas barbarians whom Palestinians in Gaza want to be free from?
Questions from The Wall Street Journal
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) opinion page had some other questions about the October 7 slaughter of Israeli civilians:
“Why did the Hamas men, upon confronting the dead body of a teenage girl, start cheering? Why did they argue over who would get to decapitate a Thai guest worker they had shot, then proclaim ‘Allahu akbar’ with every swing at his neck?’”
Also, according to the WSJ: “One raided the fridge in front of the young children he had just wounded with a grenade that killed their father and brother…piles of bodies, bloodied and mutilated, babies burned, families burned together, some with hands tied.”
These are just some examples of Hamas’ barbaric actions in waging war on Israel, at the direction of Iran, on October 7.
Hamas live streamed the mass murders, proudly boasting of it to the greater Arab world and posting the video on social media. The WSJ article concluded:
“As Israel continues its just and necessary defense against Hamas in Gaza and around the world, its citizens will not forget the Hamas-recorded images of Oct. 7. Neither should the rest of us.”
Save Gaza from who?
It’s notable that Israel completely withdrew all military from the Gaza Strip in 2005, hoping the people there could effectively self-govern. But the Hamas terrorist group took over the governing and lives of every single one of the Palestinians living in Gaza, to the detriment of the people. The economic and military consequences of terrorist rule by Hamas were disastrous for Gaza.
Therefore, the protest sign must be asking the Israeli Defense Forces to “SAVE GAZA” from the horrendous conditions Palestinians were already living under via the ruthless Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists.
Final Thoughts
Where to begin?
Hamas had 16 years to rule the Gaza Strip and bring prosperity, higher living standards and a greater quality of life to Palestinians, as well as more freedom via real democratic elections — without death sentences inferred for those Palestinians voting against Hamas. However, the people of Gaza received none of it.
Yes, these pro-Hamas protesters are good at proliferating baseless propaganda to fool the public, especially young college students — some of whom are uneducated in the complex history of the Middle East in general, and the Jewish State of Israel in particular.
Of course, most Arab media is happy to regurgitate Hamas lies and brutality, while blaming Israel for the plight of Gaza which Hamas governed. Go figure?
These brainwashed protesters sure sounded like Hamas apologists.
These anti-Israel protesters should try harder next time to utilize facts rather than fiction. Then they might actually purport to persuade anyone who is objective and fair-minded with education and knowledge about the plight of Palestinians in this disputed, unoccupied territory.
Ditto for similar protesters nationwide and abroad.
That is, assuming these pro-Hamas protesters actually have any facts or truth to put forth—instead of more myths, propaganda and videos of innocent Israeli civilians being butchered by the Iranian-trained and funded terrorist group called Hamas.
