Is There A Consistent Heartache In Your Life?
Your heart chakra sending you a message?

Have you sought to protect yourself from heartache?
Do you feel current events have made you feel separated?
Or, perhaps you have felt a change in the harmony of your relationships?
Who has not felt the need to protect themselves from heartache in our life, and not only in personal relationships?
The heart determines your health and strength as it focuses on how we feel about our internal world — the emotional responses to our own thoughts, ideas, attitudes, and inspiration.
It is where the physical and spiritual come together. In fact, it is the core of our energetic frequency and the root of all emotional and energetic healing.
Your Central Powerhouse
When the heart is open, you may feel being deeply connected, the harmonious exchange of energy with all that is around you, and the appreciation of beauty.
However, when a blockage exists, you may experience difficulties in relating with others, such as excessive jealousy, co-dependency, or being closed down, withdrawn.
Because the cardiac system relies on air and breathing to function properly, affairs of the heart often emerge in the lungs. They are interdependent.
The main meanings and functions associated with the heart involve connecting and relating. Both with yourself and others.
The emphasis is on love, giving and receiving, and how open we are in relationships. Love is the energy that helps transfigure emotions and experiences. It is an essential element in any relationship.
Though to quote Rumi:
“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”
Such barriers influence the fourth chakra.
The heart chakra is the central powerhouse of the energy body. The focal point or bridge that connects the first three chakras relating to the external world to the three higher chakras associated with intuition and spirituality.
The gland associated with the heart chakra is the thymus, which is in charge of regulating the immune system.
As the fourth energy centre, it is multidimensional and is energetically represented with a front going through the centre of the chest, and a back going through the spine between the shoulder blades.
Which means any barriers may be felt in these locations.
As well as the heart, the fourth chakra governs the circulatory system, emotional regulation, the lungs, shoulders, arms and hands, breasts and lymph system beginning with the thymus gland.
Recognise Any Of These Patterns?
According to the HeartMath Institute:
“…it is not commonly known that the heart actually sends more signals to the brain than the brain sends to the heart!”
Which is why emotional hurt is the root cause of mental illness. Whenever an issue appears with these aspects of the body, you can be sure the heart chakra is sending you a message it is out of alignment.
It is hurt that causes it to close. Personal issues could surface as self-loathing, resentment and the inability to forgive oneself, feeling betrayed and an inability to trust oneself.
Others may assume the role of the saviour or the rescuer; or on the contrary, falling into a mindset of always being the victim
The most common Sanskrit name for the heart chakra is “Anahata“, which means “unhurt, unstruck, unbeaten”.
The challenge of the heart chakra is very similar to the challenges of the solar plexus, the third chakra. Only it communicates with us on a slightly more sophisticated level and is tuned in at a frequency that encourages us to expand our love beyond our ‘Self.’
The next story in this series is on Secret #3, the power of the solar plexus.
My story “Afraid to Speak Your Truth?” shows the colour of each chakra. The fourth chakra is traditionally associated with green — representing transformation and the energy of love. It is associated with the Air element.
The auric colour of an active fourth chakra that can be seen as a pink or smoky pink. Hence our representation of love as a pink heart.
Love experienced through the heart chakra is not just about romance, rather about going beyond the limitations of the ego and its personal preoccupations. To open more fully to compassion and acceptance of all that is, as it is without making judgements.
Imbalances Of The Heart
When we live from our heart and our heart energy is opened and balanced, we can see clearly and position ourselves in any situation. We view it with discernment and compassion, no matter the challenges.
The heart chakra can become imbalanced as a result of life experiences that have a strong emotional charge, physical ailments, or significant changes in your environment.
Jena´s Story
An example of how love impacts our lives was Jena. Her belief was that if she was visible, then she would not attract support from those around her. To attract love, she needed to be invisible. Today she has launched her own healing business and is in the process of moving to a new location in Nature, away from city life.

Other case studies are in my best selling book The Seven Secrets to Living in Harmony.
With the cosmos emphasising relationships — perhaps YOU are feeling some kind of “heartache”?
Imbalances may manifest as a blockage in the energy flow or, on the contrary, a tendency to become overactive or have an excess of energy.
In the lead up to writing The Seven Secrets to Living in Harmony, I had come to realise I had placed many many such ‘layers’ of protection around my heart.
Protection For My Heart
Why? Was I not loved?

Who has not felt the need to protect themselves from heartache, and not only in personal relationships? Especially as it might be seen as weakness?
It is love directing the fourth chakra´s involvement to create change and transformation. The desire being to assist others evolve and grow.
Which Carl Jung summarised beautifully as:
“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart.
Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens.”
Blood represents the flow of life and the heart has the responsibility to pump it around the body. Hence why the most obvious physical effects of lack of harmony in the heart area are circulatory conditions such as angina and variations in blood pressure.
To help understand the message your heart is sending you, I have placed on YouTube a short video about Secret #4 — ready to allow yourself to feel?
