Is The Apartheid State of Israel Slowly Killing Itself?
The gross overreach of the Netanyahu governments attempts to eradicate Hamas and the Islamic Resistance Movement in the Gaza Strip has resulted in the deaths of over 20,000 people and a strengthened Hamas. Israel, as the most moral and advanced democracy in the Middle East was also killed, wrapped in cloth and buried alongside it in an unmarked grave in no-mans land. The jury is still out but bets are that the IDF did it.
There has to be no doubt in anyone’s mind now that the actions taken by the State of Israel, with the full and frank backing of the USA, Germany, France and the UK, has been an unmitigated disaster for Israel. They have achieved none of their stated goals and have instead widowed their own. Hamas is still in charge. Hamas has the mic. Hamas keep popping up like gophers in the desert. Hamas still fire rockets, still take out tanks and bulldozers, still inflict casualties and still have the support of the people; even though Palestinians are being massacred in the Occupied West Bank and Gaza in their hundreds every single day.
It is a PR nightmare for the State of Israel, which since its inception in 1948 has done very little to mitigate the bad taste it leaves in many peoples mouths. “It turns out that two thousand years of Jewish struggle for survival amounts to a country of settlements, which is run by a corrupt clique of lawbreakers..” Avrahom Burg, former Knesset Speaker, wrote in the International Herald Tribune in 2003. He continued with,
“Even if the Arabs bow their heads and swallow their shame and rage forever, it won’t work. An infrastructure built on denigrating others will inevitably collapse in on itself… After Israel has stopped showing interest in the children of the Palestinians, it must not be surprised that they will come, bathed in hatred, and blow themselves up in the heart of Israeli escapism.”
Avraham Burg, or Avrom Borg as he is sometimes known, is well known in Israel. His political leanings are to the left and he is a long time advocate of the one-state solution. He protects Palestinians from settler attacks. He marches in solidarity with Palestinian villagers. Raises his objections to the treatment of Palestinians in and out of the Occupied Territories. Burg was also attacked by the IDF for being on the ‘wrong side’ while leading a delegation of left-wing activists to the town of Huwwara near Nablus in the West Bank following multiple settler attacks. Israel is attacking its own.
There is no coming back from this latest attempt at wiping Palestinians from their homeland. They have uttered the forbidden word ‘Nakba’ live on the telly. Israel have lost the public relations war ten times over. Hilarious attempts to persuade the international community they have found Hamas have only led to scepticism and outright derision with many parodies going viral on social media channels. Daniel Hagari, the official IDF spokes-person has spawned a whole new life in online memes. He is now a household name for all the wrong reasons. #haveyoucondemnedKhamastoday is trending.
But we need to tread with caution now. Israel is like a wounded bear and will lash out at anything and anyone who comes close to poking it. There are calls in the US to halt the $10bn in aid given to Israel. Bernie Sanders, independent senator for Vermont in the US Congress, is leading the call.
“Israel has the absolute right to defend itself against the Hamas terrorists who attacked them on October 7,” he said in a statement. “They do not have the legal or moral right to kill thousands of innocent Palestinian men, women, and children.”
As an American born Jew we will have to wait and see if he has the legs to stand up to the calls of ‘self-hating Jew’ or will he buckle under the weight of the American Jewish lobby. If Netanyahu gets his war with Iran then all bets are off as to what happens next. Because we all know what happens next and the future has never looked scarier. Netanyahu will no doubt blame Hamas for starting WW3.
So, Israel, WTF are you doing to yourself? Have you not learned anything in 100 years? Winter is coming and the isolation is going to hurt. Tourists don’t want to be there. Airlines have cancelled flights. That not so little town of Bethlehem, has Baby Jesus in the rubble! Christian travellers don’t want to see that. They want carols and Three Wise Men. (not Netenyahu, Gallant and Gantz) They want Mary and Joseph, and angels FFS.. Where are the angels? Yup, Israel, you are committing State-suicide. We are watching a slow death. The cancer that eats you from within has metastasised and reaches beyond the Likud Party now. What passed as Left in Israel is now Centre-Right and the Right have gone so far to the Right they are coming back around to the left as Stalinist Communism.
It is only a matter of time now before the guns fall silent in Gaza and those who must go in and pick up the pieces of lives shattered, come stumbling back out with the whole, terrifying story of what Netanyahu and his death-cult of personalities have left in their wake. Rats, disease, killer infections. The numbers of dead will be staggering. The pictures will be heart-breaking; as if they are not now. The orphaned ones. Those who now find themselves alone with no husband, or wife, or family. There have been whole lineages wiped out in one precision-guided strike. AI Targeted strikes. Those who go in will witness the hallmarks of a genocide stopped in its tracks because the perpetrating State keeled over under the weight of its own complicity and died.
Those in Israel and the West who cheered this on; who bear-hugged and commiserated with Bibi at the airport; who tended to his bruised and battered ego; who green-lighted this fiasco. Let us not be afraid to name them. Ri$hi Sunak, James Cleverly, Joe Biden, Emmanuel Macron, Olaf Scholz, Anthony Albanese and Frau Genocide herself Ursula von der Leyen, will all have to walk barefoot back over the coals and try to salvage something remotely resembling a conscience. May they all burn, not in a fake hasbara kind of way, but for eternity in the hell of their own making.
