How we navigate the unavoidable stress determines our well-being and success in life.
Now, more than ever, we need to find ways to lower our stress, make better decisions, and adjust to our post-pandemic life.
There are many proven ways to reduce stress. They are readily available to each of us. When we do so, we increase our effectiveness while improving our overall happiness.
Each of us needs to learn how to navigate our stressful situations successfully.
Lesson to Learn
Stress affects each of us. Learning how we can best manage our stress is a critical skill set needed to be happy and successful.
Stress management is a skill that must be learned and practiced.
Simple yet powerful practices enable us to manage our stress and allow us to help others do so as well.
Some of the proven stress management strategies involve cultivating a peaceful mindset, exercising, eating healthy, getting proper rest, and spending time with live-giving friends and family.
Hard work can also be very good for us if we keep it in perspective and do not overdo it.
The pandemic has added so much stress to our lives. As we emerge from this crisis, we will need to continue to manage our stress. It will not just go away. Committing to do so is vital.
Answer for Me
Like many, the stress of this past year has been intense.
Professional and personal stressors are heightened during a crisis like the one we are going through right now. This was true for me in all areas of my life.
During other stressful periods in my life, I have learned what works for me. I used these approaches and developed additional ones. It was hard work to put more habits into my routine but well worth the effort.
I needed to increase my prayer time, exercise more regularly, maintain healthy eating habits, prioritize rest and relaxation, and stay connected to good friends and my family.
Although it has not been perfect, overall, I have been successful.
I know I will need to continue to manage my stress as we emerge into a post-pandemic world. Remaining committed to doing so gives me a path to a healthier, happier, and prosperous future.
Action
Now is the time to assess how we are managing our stress.
What has worked well so far? What new routines can I include to destress to be healthier and happier? Who can help me? Who needs my help?
These questions can help us prepare for what lies ahead.
The path forward will be difficult. We know that. However, we will emerge from this period. And we must continue to actively manage our stress. Plan now for your success.
When you do so, you serve yourself and others.
