Summary

The article presents a critical analysis of Vocal Media as a platform for writers, weighing its potential for earning through views against its challenges with SEO, engagement, and support.

Abstract

The author, Mahnoor Chaudhry, discusses the mixed prospects of writing for Vocal Media. While the platform offers the opportunity to earn money per view without the need for a premium membership, it is marred by significant drawbacks. These include the difficulty in obtaining views due to a subpar SEO system, lack of audience engagement, and issues with support and bonuses. Some writers have reported not receiving bonuses or payments despite meeting the criteria, and the support team has been unresponsive. Despite these challenges, Vocal Media could be beneficial for consistent content creators adept at SEO and driving traffic from external sources, though the time investment and outcomes remain uncertain. The article suggests that improvements in Vocal Media's SEO and support systems could enhance its appeal, potentially making it a better option than Medium for writers seeking income based on viewership.

Opinions

  • Vocal Media's payment model is based on views from both internal and external sources, which is a positive aspect for writers.
  • The difficulty in gaining views on Vocal Media is a significant concern, primarily due to its ineffective SEO system.
  • The platform lacks audience engagement and community features, which are crucial for attracting internal views.
  • There are issues with the bonus system, with some writers not receiving bonuses despite having original content, and the support team is perceived as unresponsive and inconsistent.
  • Some writers have had negative experiences with Vocal Media, including non-payment of earned money, leading to disappointment and disengagement.
  • The platform may still be worthwhile for a select few who are consistent, skilled in SEO, and capable of generating organic traffic from platforms like Pinterest and Quora.
  • The potential for earning on Vocal Media is seen as a gamble due to the unpredictable nature of traffic and income generation

Is it Worth Writing for Vocal Media? Vocal Media Burning Facts

Vocal Media writing platforms like Medium. Everyone who writes on Medium is familiar with Vocal Media.

Do Vocal Media work the same way Medium does?

Is it worth investing your efforts in Vocal Media?

It would be right if I said that it is worth writing on vocal media. Or if I said that writing on vocal media is a waste of time, it would be right again.

Now, I know you get confused by what I am saying, but both statements are true.

Let me explain how Vocal Media works so that you better understand my statements.

On vocal media, you make money per view. You do not need to be a premium member of Vocal Media to earn money. Simply put, you have to get views on your articles from internal and external sources. It doesn’t matter from where the views come—external or internal — they can generate income.

The worst side of Vocal Media

Let me put a light on it’s burning facts:

Fact 1.

It really sounds like a cool and easy process to generate income through Vocal Media. But the worst fact about vocal media is that getting views on it is hella difficult.

Fact 2.

The only way to get views on Vocal Media is SEO. Unfortunately, the Vocal SEO system sucks. Whatever you do, even if you put all your SEO skills into it, it is still a gamble whether it will work or not.

Fact 3.

Vocal Media doesn’t give you the chance to get internal views because there is no connection between the audience, no engagement and nothing.

Fact 4.

One of the Vocal Media features is Bonuses. People get attracted to bonuses, but not all adore them. Sometimes Vocal Media denies giving you bonuses by saying your content is not original and bonuses are only awarded to true creators. Even If you provide them with proof that the content was written by you, they still don’t alter the decision. It seems like a scam.

Fact 4.

Vocal Media support is not very good. I transferred my Medium content to Vocal Media. I receive a $5 bonus for publishing five stories. But I didn’t receive the bonus of 50 stories. When I inquired, they first told me some bonuses were only for Vocal Media Plus members. On further inquiry, they said bonuses are given only for original content. When I told them, the content was original, though it’s published on Medium under my belt. They stop replying. They only answer a few times after that, then stop replying.

Fact 5.

A creator on Medium shared her Vocal Media journey and revealed that she made a good amount of money from her hard work on Vocal Media. But when it was time to get paid, Vocal Media refused to pay, making some excuses.

Lilith Helstrom shares her experience with Vocal Media in her story, “Vocal Media Wants to Steal Your Money.”

Saurabh Adhane shared his story, “Why I Left Vocal Media.” He quit Vocal Media with disappointment.

Now let’s come explore how it could be good

One thing is confirmed: Vocal Media is not a short-term game. However, where many content creators are disappointed by Vocal Media, many are making good money. I must say they are lucky.

It could be a good platform for those who are consistent, have a grip on SEO, and can drive traffic from Pinterest, Quora and other sources organically. But it’s a time-consuming process, in-fact nobody knows the actual amount of time it will take. I think If I say it’s a gamble, it would be right because nobody even knows when it will generate your income.

Another good aspect of Vocal Media is the bonus. You can earn bonuses on Vocal Media by participating in challenges and publishing a certain number of stories. Again, not all can adore this. So, I would again say, it’s a gamble.

It is a good and worthwhile platform for those whose luck is with them.

Wrapping it Up

If Vocal Media improves its platform and makes the SEO system a bit better, it could be even better than Medium. Because you only need views to generate income, not member time. Vocal Media has played it safe. They attract people with their term “pay-per-view” and then bind them with a poor SEO system.
