Is Inspired Work Meaningful Work?

For an artist it definitely is meaningful.

I have the privilege of knowing many fantastic and thoughtful people from the art world.

I don’t think I have ever met a more giving group of people. As a person evolves in the art world, I have noticed their work ethic creates a more meaningful attention to how they live and work.

Now another question for you.

What do you want in your life, and what do you want to give away?

Besides growing as an artist and teaching what I have learned, it is how to be a better person. Years of work as an artist have led to learning more about what is meaningful in this world.

If you are an artist, you learn about different things you want to paint or sculpt … or produce a specific kind of art. You need to have experience of “seeing” and understanding the intricacies of the subject. And if writing articles, blogs, or books, you research different topics. There are many subjects you can write about. But being creative, you need to know what floats your boat.

Doing any kind of creative activity involves giving part of yourself! Or it should, don’t you think?

What kinds of subject matter or scenery inspires you and why?

I know, I ask a lot of questions.

As I have grown in my career as an artist, the method I have used to get my point across is to ask questions. I have even brought other artists to tears when they have finally dug deep enough to answer with a meaningful and emotional reply.

I have a few students that even ask me, “do you always have to ask questions?” And, I tell them if they answer from “within,” the replies teach them something that my telling them would not.

I’m sure you have heard of “being in the zone.”

Where on earth does your mind go when you have lost a few hours working intensely in the zone?

A friend of mine said something on a Facebook post, and I thought it a good reply to what we as older people know … “we need in this broad observation realize we also are from another time. One that emphasized inspiring work, a meaningful life, an expectant work ethic.”

Why don’t you join me and some of my friends in talking about those three things! Mention these three to your friends.

  1. Inspiring work
  2. Meaningful life
  3. Expectant work ethic

If we talk about them enough and how it inspires us to do good in our daily lives, create inspiring artwork and writing, and live more along those lines … where do you think our world would be?

We can start … or help those already started … a ripple effect.

I feel it already, don’t you?
