Is Edutech Fastest Growing Industry in 2020?

Education is important, but they are worthless without values

Education till 2019

Since our childhood, we are constantly reminded by our families about the values and importance of education. If we don’t perform well, the amount of scolding we have got is unimaginable.

Education is an important aspect of everyone’s life, every parent wants their child to get the best education, and they are ready to pay as per their propensity for the better future of their child.

Sometimes education institutions charge a lot of fee in name of quality education. hefty donations for admissions that have created a lot of burden on the parents.

The Over erupting Competition

At the age of 9, they resemble a 29yr old working in a Software company in silicon valley.

Everyone is thrown into the race to become successful, a kid is burdened with higher studies advance courses or books so they can study more and get better grades, and this is the sad reason why most of the kids I meet look sad and depressed with spectacles. Then arrived the most loved year — 2020

Everything was going fine until this wonderful year started. we are left with 3 more months this year, and still, it looks nothing under control.

Due to pandemic, most people are staying at home, and one of the worst affected industries after Tourism is Education.

Schools and Colleges which were not so accommodative with online classes had shut down, a lot of new admissions are on pause and, people have withdrawn names from streams ( like Hotel Management and Retail)that look feeble to pay handsomely soon.

Every Adversity is an Opportunity

I am, inspired by the above line it has affected my life on a large scale so I always make sure to fit this one in my posts.

When the Education system took a backseat, Online Education increased its pace and soon became one of the most favorable startup business of 2020.

Reason for a spike in the growth of Edutech.

When the COVID came, apart from mass deaths, infections, it also brought Pay cuts and loss of employment on a worldwide level in almost all streams.

People realized the value of passive income, streams like Blogging, SEO, Social media management, and other freelance job sites were taken more seriously by people.

People started reaching out for online classes, freelancers looking to upgrade their skills, ones who lost job looking for new skills, and the ones who want to learn used online platforms like Udemy and Unacademy on a big level.

The result was visible as In India 3 in 10 Startups on the rise in 2020 1/3rd is dominated by Edutech startups.

Adding to the above, a company like White jr started in 2018 to teach coding to kids, is now becoming a success.

Is Edutech good in the Future?

I was having a chat with my family about the Edutech as the future of education, and what they told was quite awakening for me.

As per my parents (retired teachers), A child not only learns academics when in a school but also moral values like respecting a teacher, empathy with another student, team spirit after losing a basketball match and to face the guy who bullies him.

These values are beneficial in his life someday or other, academics remain in the brain, but these values go deep down in the heart and help to mold the person into a better human being.

So I believe once things are normal a child needs to move back to school to learn the values.
