Is Caring too Much to Ask For?
A mental note of how the world has lost all empathy and senses.

I remember a world where graphic violence wasn’t shown in the news media in the United States, not plastered all over the television and internet. I remember a world where funerals and wakes were solemn gatherings to reflect on the person lying in state, not reunions for idle gossip.
According to the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, ‘no aspect of our mental life is more important to the quality and meaning of our existence than the emotions’.
Over time, our society has become incoherent, indifferent, inept, and insensitive as we share Earth with one another. Gone are the days when we felt each other’s sorrow and pain, instead of being thankful ‘it wasn’t me’. Gone are the days when we were okay with a good cry amongst family and friends. Gone are the days when we use to turn our heads to avoid seeing the violence playing out in front of us.
Instead, we stare Death in the face, while he snatches the souls of those several feet from us. Instead of recoiling in terror and fear, we stand tall with stoic and botherless expressions. How can we get our caring nature back?
How can we digress from the numbing effects of the sinister nature our world is finding itself?
