As winter chokes the UK, I’ve noticed myself slipping into mindless munching. So, here’s my self-reminder to eat healthily and watch my portion sizes:
Belly’s Text — Sophie, don’t disregard the urgent message from your belly; it’s not spam. It’s saying, ‘Full — no vacancy.’ Avoid stuffing more in. If you’re unsure, take a 30-minute intermission before contemplating an encore performance.
No seconds, please — Sophia! After your star-studded meal, consider those sequels. Stick to one act per dining session. You’ve dined; it’s not an all-you-can-eat buffet, and your belly isn’t auditioning for ‘Largest Winter Belly Growth!’
Shop like a miser. Only buy what’s on your grocery list. Don’t pick up random stuff. If ice cream is missing from home, you can’t seize it. If crisps escape your grasp at the store, you’re less likely to bolt out to nab a bag.
If it’s not in the house, you can’t eat it unless you summon the motivation to leave the house and buy it. You know you won’t. And no, you will not order it from ‘ Just Eat Your Self into a Big Belly!’
Munch Mindfully: Transform into a food critic, meticulously examining every bite. Sophie, don’t eat as if you’re training for a competitive eating contest; relish each morsel as if it’s the culinary highlight of your day.
Portion Size: Shrink your portions down. Halve them or snatch two-thirds, but never the whole shebang. Who are these external bodies dictating how much you should consume? You’re not a puppet; you call the shots on your plate!
Move It, Body Movement: Keep that body in motion, Sophia! If you’ve forgotten how to count calories, let your trusty app guide the way. Plan your daily meals, and strive to rack up at least 7,000 steps daily. Come on, Sophie, you’ve got this!
PS. Seriously, Sophia, stop moving around while eating. Sit down, please!

I hope this has inspired you. I’m unsure how inspired I am.
There you are, Sophia, with your ‘I am unsure.’ Stop it!
Sorry — I will commit 100 percent to this!
Now, I have to figure out how to stop speaking to myself!
