Is a Taylor Swift Concert Worth a Month of Being Grounded?
This Fan Says Yes!
Natalie could hardly contain her excitement as she stared at the Taylor Swift concert tickets she had bought in secret. She had been saving up her babysitting money for months to be able to afford the expensive seats.
Taylor was her absolute favorite singer and this would be her first chance to see her live!
The only problem was that Natalie’s parents had forbidden her from going. They thought at 14 she was too young to attend a big concert on her own. But Natalie couldn’t stand the thought of missing out. So she carefully hatched a plan to sneak out the night of the show without her parents realizing.

The day of the concert, Natalie pretended to go to bed early. Once her parents had gone to sleep, she got dressed in her favorite Taylor Swift t-shirt and jealousy jeans and quietly snuck downstairs. She held her breath as she slowly unlocked and opened the front door, terrified it would creak and wake her parents. But she got it open just enough to slip outside undetected into the cool night air.

At the concert, it was everything Natalie dreamed it would be and more. She sang and danced until her voice was hoarse and her feet were sore. Seeing her idol Taylor Swift shine on stage filled her heart with pure joy.
It was one of the greatest nights of her young life!
Exhausted but elated, Natalie returned home very late to find both her parents sitting angrily in the living room. They had discovered her missing hours ago! they had almost called the police! Though she described the incredible concert in detail, her parents would not listen. Natalie was grounded for a month with no cell phone, Internet, or TV.

Despite the harsh punishment, as Natalie replayed the magical Taylor Swift concert over and over in her head, she decided it had all been worth it.
She’d find a way to see Taylor again someday no matter what her parents said. This was just the first act in a lifelong fandom!
Basically, this could have been my daughter! except that things were different for us because we both went to the concert, and it was just amazing!… a new swiftie was born that day… ME!
