Invisible Me

A Poem

Photo by Michael Mims on Unsplash

There is a Me for all to see: My eyes, brown skin, and youth scarred knee.

But deep inside there is another, waiting for the chance, to show the world my soul’s true colors, dance my drummers dance.

There is a me who will become the things I’m taught and know; I hope the things you say and do will help God’s vision grow.

There is a me, an inner me, blind to this world’s dim eyes. But, deep within the muck and mire, He hears my desperate cries

He says to Me be kind and true, honest, and forgiving. And when life’s journey seems too hard just continue living.

Tomorrow is another day and all things change with time; and what has been invisible will someday rise and shine.

Psalm 127:3 (NLT) — Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from Him. ”
