Intuition: A Blessing In Disguise
Listen to it
I envy the people who are gifted with intuition, and I wish I could get in contact with my intuitive self more often.
Yet, on one occasion, it helped me immensely.
At the time, I was in love with an Italian who was living in the United States. We had been dating for only a few months, but our relationship was complicated because of the distance. After a while, I started getting the feeling that he was putting some emotional distance between us, and that he was no longer involved in our relationship.
For a reason unknown to me, I felt he was coming to Italy without telling me. In fact, he had family members in Italy that he visited quite often, and we first met during one of his visits.
That night, I dreamt he landed at the nearest airport. When I woke up, I was not only able to recall the name of the airline, but also the flight number. I thought it was weird, but I had no doubts about my next steps: since at that time I was working at the airport, and I had a friend working for that airline, I went directly to her office.
Of course, privacy did not allow sharing details about passengers, but she could divulge names for business reasons. I asked her if he was on that flight, she checked and she said “Yes, the plane landed a couple of hours ago.”
Wow. Where did my mind get that information from? How could I guess the date, airline, and flight number right, without having any hints about it? Maybe my experience working for an airline, and seeing all those flights come and go, helped my subconscious put two and two together and get the airline name and number. This however does not explain how I was also able to guess the date.
That time my intuition was like a guide: it helped me realize that our relationship was over, and that he was living his life and visiting Italy without contacting me. It helped me see things as they were, but I still wish it didn’t happen.
I am very grateful to that part of myself which came to my aid. I hope it won’t fail me on some future occasion, but hopefully nothing boyfriend — related!
