Summary

K.G. Munro is a mid-20s author and poet who, after a brief hiatus, returned to writing due to a calling felt deeply during the pandemic, and aims to use their work to effect positive change.

Abstract

K.G. Munro, in their mid-20s, is an author and poet whose journey with writing began in early childhood with the creation of a poem at age four and a trilogy titled "Burger Boy" at age ten. Despite the setback of losing these early works to a computer virus, Munro's passion persisted. After stepping away from writing during their teenage years to explore other paths, including various professions and an unsuccessful attempt at traditional higher education, the solitude of the pandemic rekindled their dedication to the craft. Writing, to Munro, is more than a career; it's a soul-driven vocation that they believe can instigate good in the world through stories and messages that resonate with readers. Beyond literature, Munro enjoys a life filled with a love for plants, birds, and a decade-long practice of yoga. They are also multilingual and share a unique appreciation for ambiance set by candles. Overall, Munro hopes that their work, like their personal story, will unveil its layers and touch lives slowly over the years.

Introduction — K.G. Munro

I am a mid 20s author and poet who spends too much time thinking. I became a denizen of the craft six years ago. Throughout my life, writing has made its voice known. I wrote my first poem at four and wrote three novels at ten (titled Burger Boy) which ended up being lost due to a computer virus — le sigh. As a teenager, I took a break from my creative aspirations. However, I could never stay away forever.

The writing bug bit me after my failed attempt at getting a degree. My soul called me to do something that veered away from the societally accepted pathway of education, job, and so on. I’ve had many professions in the past, but for me being an author is a calling. The pandemic, as awful and soul-destroying as it was, gave me the time I needed to cultivate my skills.

Wherever my abilities take me, I hope I can do immense amounts of good with them. To me that is the most important thing about being an author and poet is to help make things better for others through the messages and stories that I paint and convey.

Aside from being a creative human. I love plants, birds, and yoga which has been a constant in my life for almost 10 years. I can speak four languages and candles are a whole vibe like god bless Woodbridge— digression aside — I hope that you enjoyed getting to know a bit about me. Despite only sharing a tiny portion of my story, I hope to be like a mystery that unveils itself slowly to you throughout the years ahead.

God bless & eternal love,

K.G. Munro
