Introducing the Free 30 Days of Positivity Email Course

My free gift to you to help you thrive in today’s world.

“I can’t do this,” I mumbled to myself as I pulled the plush blankets up over my head. My light alarm clock came to life seconds earlier, and what’s supposed to be soothing bird song filled the room. I contemplated throwing a pillow at the clock across the room, but knew it was a terrible idea to break another alarm clock.

The gloom outside was unmistakable, even with the blinds still closed. The clink of raindrops hitting the air conditioner told me how large the drops were. Rainy Days and Mondays by the Carpenters began to play in my mind. It would be the soundtrack for the day.

As much as I hated the idea, I forced myself out of bed to begin my morning routine.

Have you ever had a morning like this? Life with chronic illness is exhausting, and that’s true whether it’s a physical illness or a mental disorder. I’m blessed to have both, living with Familial Mediterranean Fever and bipolar disorder.

Sometimes the universe gives with both hands, but not always the gifts we want.

The end of the year is my most challenging season. Between the cold weather ushering in unending body pain and the reduced sunlight inducing depression, the last weeks of the year often feel impossible to survive.

One thing that keeps me moving is the practice of focusing on one positive thing each day. Usually it’s a quote, or something from my list of reasons to be happy, but that topic becomes my stabilizer for the day. It’s my lighthouse guiding me home on a dark foggy night.

Reading recent content on social media reminds me I’m not alone in this end-of-the-year struggle. Even though I’m fighting to keep myself going, I realized I could help others along the way.

It was one of those lightbulb moments that nearly knocked me off my office chair a few days ago. The 30 Days of Positivity email course was born, a project that will both inspire you to keep going and help me stay afloat as the last days of fall disappear.
