Introducing Tarot Tales

Stories inspired by Tarot Cards

Image by Timpoa. Cards are from The Hokusai Tarot, The Greenwood Tarot and The Lilifer Tarot

My Medium writer friend Denise Kendig and I both have a passion for the tarot.

Denise has a collection of thought provoking posts about the tarot and different ways of interpreting the cards, which are worth checking out! Here is a favourite of mine.

We thought it would be fun to put a challenge or at least, a tag out there, inviting people to write a story or article on Medium, based on a tarot card.

  • You can use any of the 78 cards of the tarot deck as inspiration.
  • It can be fiction or non-fiction
  • You can wrote poetry or prose
  • Any length from haiku to novella!
  • Any genre is fine as long as it complies with Medium rules.
  • All stories should feature a related image, either an image of the tarot card that inspired the story or a photo that illustrates the story. All images must be credited correctly. If you need a copyright free image of a tarot card for your story, please don’t hesitate to ask, I am sure I can oblige.
  • Posts can be tagged TarotTales in the tag box that comes up when you publish a story. This helps everyone to find your story in a Medium search.
  • Please do tag anyone you feel may want to write their own Tarot Tale!

I don’t really know many tarot readers here, so please if this appeals to you, say hello, and consider yourself tagged!

I am tagging Philippa Robinson and Tabitha Low to come and play!

I am editing this to add Jann Christoph von der Pütten, Benighted and Allana Hager!

Here is my first story for #TarotTales
