Some writers may remember that I initiated the Six Word Photo Story Summer Challenge on Medium that ran from July 1 — August 21, 2021, and launched off with my June 29, 2021 article. I didn’t know it would be such a popular challenge! I loved the process of encouraging and engaging with our writing community to participate in my summer writing challenge.
Over 75+ writers participated and I read every single story.
Initially, I thought it would be easier just tagging writers and supporting their stories with claps, and comments, and writing my own 6-word photo stories, including links to the latest round of participants, as regular updates — rather than starting my own publication. But this process wasn’t as quick and easy as I thought it’d be.
Today I’m launching my own publication, “Six Word Photo Story Challenge,” to host and publish your six-word photo stories!
Of course, you can still choose to self-publish your stories OR publish them in any other publication that accepts this type of story style.
I’m here to support writers who enjoyed, became hooked, or are intrigued by the six-word photo story challenge concept. This publication is a new option for publishing your future stories.
Note: As of September 1, 2021, I will no longer be tagging writers and updating my articles with links to your 6-word photo stories. Instead, if you wish to publish in this publication, “Six Word Photo Story Challenge,” I’ll support your stories here.
As of September 1st, 2021, I’ll be starting a new monthly challenge with the launching of this publication! Note: The 6-Word Photo Story Summer Challenge ran from July 1, 2021, and ended on August 31, 2021. This means you don’t need to tag me on your future six-word photo stories — unless you feel inspired.

The History of the Six Word Photo Story Publication
The Six Word Photo Story Challenge Publication was inspired by my original 6-Word Photo Story Summer Challenge (2021) writing prompt. I started the challenge on Medium in July with this article. It was a fun challenge and became the hottest addiction for many writers!

Update (Sept 3/2021): This is a message to the participants of the 6-Word Photo Story Summer Challenge. I’ve added you all as new writers for this Six Word Photo Story Challenge publication — if I linked any of your stories to my past 6-word photo stories during the summer challenge between July 1-Aug 31, 2021. That’s how I kept track of participating writers during the challenge.
Update (Sept 30/2021): After the first 30 days of launching this pub, over 150 stories have been published! Please ensure your story format is correct and follow the submission guidelines. This will save me time when I’m reviewing stories!
