Introducing: Roz Warren
What Have I Done With My Life So Far?
I write for everyone from the Funny Times to the New York Times and have appeared on both the Today Show and Morning Edition.
I’m the author of two collection of humorous essays about library work, Our Bodies, Our Shelves: A Collection of Library Humor and Just Another Day at Your Local Public Library (both of which would make great gifts for your favorite librarian or other bookish person.)
I’m also the editor of the ground-breaking (and now mostly out-of-print) Womens’ Glib humor collections, including titles like When Cats Talk Back and Men are From Detroit, Women Are From Paris.
I used to own a very profitable small press, Laugh Lines Press, which published humor books and cartoon collections by women.
I curate the Library Laughs page on Facebook.
And I’ve been in 13 Chicken Soup for the Soul collections.
I just started a Medium publication, It’s a Hardback Life, which is basically a catch-all for my Medium work that doesn’t run in other publications.
I’m also an editor who works with writers to help polish and publish their prose. (Looking to upgrade your work and have fun while you’re doing it? Get in touch!)
Here’s my most popular Medium story this month:
And here’s my most popular Medium story of all time:
I retired from the practice of law to take a job at my local public library 21 years ago, when I decided that having lots of fun was more important than having lots of money. ( I have no regrets.)
But the most important thing in my life? I’m the proud grandmother of Benjamin Maxwell Smith — that’s a photo of the two of us — and Meyer Fischer Smith.
