I stand on the hallowed ground Nay, I float, I float

Atop the man-made structures The buildings, monuments, gardens

I fly above the treetops, the consecrated oceans I fly, higher still, higher and higher

Above the clouds, I fly away

Hello, beautiful blue planet Full of life, full of angst

I fly away, further away The solar system, the Milky Way

The galaxies strung out A garland of glittering gems

I fly, I fly, I fly, I fly Planets and stars bidding me goodbye

As I reach the beginning of time and space

I look back one last time, I bend, I take a bow

And then I plunge on ahead Into my unknown destiny.
