Into A Line: Free Verse
Saturday Poetry Prompt: rework the phrase

Out of thin air into the shadow of the skin of a line*
breathe through black and white nerves screen coalescing madnesses reach higher voltage
like copper threads through each lick and twist of a tongue
hearing each crack in the sentence of a word and the muscles expand and retract and the line forms over them
again.

*After writing this, I realized this resembled Ondaatje’s novel titled, The Skin of a Lion. Resonance never hurts…
Prompt:
I may have done a prompt like this before, but we’ve added a fair number of new writers since I began writing prompts for Scrittura well over a year ago. Take the phrase “out of thin air/into the shadow,” and rework it in some fashion within the structure of your first stanza. The poem can be on any subject you choose, but the first stanza should have each of those words placed somewhere within it. Tag me in it, and write on!
Speaking of new writers, we’ve added some wonderful new ones! Come check them out here on Scrittura!!
