THE COMEBACK TOUR
Interesting Thoughts from Other Writers with a 🤔or 😂
My Weekly WTA: What The Ah-ha Moments — Issue 18
I wanted to do shoutouts to authors, and I was going to do it in a newsletter, but everyone is doing one of those, it seems. I recently deleted most of the ones I subscribed to and didn’t even read the ones I think are stellar.
I decided that starting my own was not the best investment of my time. However, I still wanted to put together a piece highlighting things I learned or authors that made me laugh hysterically -in a good way.
February comes to an end
Well, my Medium Peeps, we are in March, which means we are inching that much closer to spring. We had 70-degree sunny weather one day and snow with icicles hanging off my roof 24 hours later. Today, we will be topping off around 60.
Saying this has been the strangest winter EVER would be an understatement.
But enough about the whacky weather here in the States. Let’s get into the first selection on my list.
This first one is a🤔
My first pick is by one of my favs, Marie A. Rebelle, where she reflects on her trip to Scotland with a couple of fellow writers on the platform. This one explores quotes by famous individuals outside of a museum.
She provides some amazing pictures and ponders what each saying means to her. I recommend exploring her latest post since we all love words and meaningful narratives here.
Next up will have you 😂🤣😂
My sides hurt from laughing during this one by Uvebruce. He somehow compares giving birth to playing football, which even a woman who doesn’t like the game can appreciate. Throughout the story, he nearly has you believing he had the most challenging job during the birthing process.
I’m not sure how he managed to do it, but he almost had me feeling sorry for him by the end.
If you want a good side-splitting, rib-hurting laugh, check this out!
Continuing with the kid theme is another 😂
This one by Kristy C is taking parenting tough love to a whole new level. Discover how she used her child as a shield to protect herself from a spider, learn some fascinating facts about them, and enjoy a good laugh along the way.
In her defense, she reported those things can get as big as a dinner plate. So, it’s only fair that it’s all mothers, fathers, and children for themselves.
Now for a real 🤔🤔🤔
Next up, Douglas Giles, PhD explores the idea that we can be anything we want. I appreciated his honest take on unrealistic aspirations, where he challenges the notion that we can be anything we choose to be.
He also created a new word that made me chuckle. You will need to read this to find out what it is.
Lastly, another that will have you 😂
After seeing the picture of this story, I had to find out what this article was all about. It did not disappoint. Annie Trevaskis explores the need to create a particular group for those not entirely up to par with Mensa’s qualifications.
Once we find out we can’t be anything, we can find solace knowing we can join Densa!
My honorable mention will have you going 🤔
In this particular piece, which received a boost, I explore attachment theory. I examine how contemporary perspectives have propelled it to the mainstream in recent years. I discuss my experiences delving into my own misunderstood style.
I outline how online resources and journaling were as beneficial for me as conventional therapy.
Happy Reading 📃
In the meantime, I will keep discovering, keep laughing, and continue to keep the ‘ah-ha’ moments coming — at least for now.
