Interesting Observations: Part 12
Sharing some interesting findings

Today, let me take you to the Pacific Northwest in the Evergreen State of Washington.
On the Olympic Peninsula, rainforests abound, so you can see trees festooned with lichens and necklaces like above.
The beaches are rugged and littered with tree logs, the casualties of landslides. I loved the turtle made out of pebbles.

The rainforest is eerie and silent. The maple trees draped with dripping moss feel spooky, and the ground is covered with ferns. You may be surprised to know that the movie The Twilight Saga is based in the rainy town of Forks on the Olympic Peninsula.

Several Native Indian tribes call the region home. Totem poles are vertical wooden structures with carvings of different creatures, such as bears, wolves, beavers, eagles, etc. These are cultural emblems and I saw a variety of totem poles during my exploration.

This photogenic chipmunk lived in Hurricane Ridge, an area in Olympic National Park that offers sweeping views of the Olympic Mountain range.

On the bluffs off the Kalalockh Beach stands a Sitka spruce in precarious conditions. Its roots are exposed due to landslides, but it clings to life. For its resilience, this tree is called the ‘Tree of Life.’
