Integrity

A poem

I write and write and write It doesn’t matter if I’m right Is my comma incorrectly placed? Or am I missing to draw some space?

Did I make a grammatical mistake? Or is my pen not working straight? But only when you understand I use the ink of my heart Will be when I’ll know My writing is off to a good start

Sometimes I write long stories Some days I just scribble Poetry, prose, essays, journals And even some life riddles

I don’t write what I see I write what I feel So I can reach your heart And not just your eyes’ appeal

You can keep a tab Of my punctuation and vocab But only when you feel what I felt when I wrote Or only when my words Let your heart emote Will I know that I am right Even when I’m not My language might be wrong But my language is not

Even if the words you read are perfect My handwriting, of crystal clarity But only if you feel those words Will it validate my integrity, my sincerity.

This poem was in response to the prompt ‘integrity’ given to me by Adam M.. Thanks for this, Adam. :)
