A poem

I choose optimism over pessimism to unnerve impending disasters. I choose hope over despair to unsettle the vicissitudes. I choose light over darkness to unveil life’s impermanence. I choose love over hate to uncover compassion’s magnitude.

I choose peace over conflict to maximize the potentialities of human resilience. I choose calm over anger to maximize the demesne of my mental health. I choose humility over ego to minimize the charm of egotism. I choose life over ambition to minimize the length of drudgery.

I choose laughter over sorrow to wiggle out of depression. I choose happiness over sadness to challenge my destiny. I choose belief over disbelief to remain connected to the universe. I choose humanity over inhumanity to remain aligned with the social contract.
