Instead, Do Something Else

Keep It Interesting

Lately, I have been devoting more time to developing good habits. I am hoping to start each day right. So far, I’ve chosen to take a deep contemplative breath and say the words “It’s a great day” to myself. I don’t know if it is working, but I’ve been doing both of those things long enough that I don’t need to put them on any sort of to-do list. Time will tell.

When I was a teenager, I would do the Sun Salutation first thing in the morning. My bedroom didn’t have a whole lot of room, but I made do. That helped to put a nice spin on my day. Now though? No, as much as I would like to take up that practice again, I would need a crane to help get me up off of the floor.

One new thing that I’m doing is considering using the planning program Notion. I am taking a class on it now from SkillShare and am trying out different things. I decided to have a daily inspiration spot. It is front and center on the opening page. I also discovered a way to take that little bit of text and have it show up in a couple of other places in the program.

What I realized is I should also save the pieces since the plan is for me to write a new one every day. Who knows? I might use them for articles in the future.

Today’s bit was a piece of channeled information. I gave credit to my Spirit Guide Seth, since it was his idea. It also applies directly to my own idea of getting into good moods which will help my productivity, and hopefully make the way for insightful articles.

Right now, this is what my first page in Notion looks like:

Since the picture above is a screenshot from my computer, the print is likely too small to read anything, so here it is:

* * * Little Bits of Inspiration * * *

Sunday — 9/17/23: Despite solving something more than once, perhaps it is time to look at the tool you are using. Instead of a pair of pliers, perhaps what is needed is a hammer. So, too, relying on your first good thought or a mantra, something else is needed. This does not mean that the first tool you use is ineffective, just that in the spirit of teamwork, something else might be considered. Think about it today. Just something else. Seth

What sorts of things do you do to improve your mood or your day? Do you have a ceremony of sorts that points toward better productivity?

Here are links to some of the places I mentioned in this article:

A Course in Miracles — This is free Notion — This is free Skillshare — Lots of classes in lots of categories. Many are free.
