Inspiring Ways to Reuse Leftover Fresh Flowers
Recut, repurpose, and recycle gently used flowers

“While it may seem small, the ripple effects of small things is extraordinary.” — Matt Bevin
On my daughter’s college campus, a wedding took place yesterday involving a young couple.
After the festivities concluded, they faced the dilemma of what to do with the remaining flowers. However, they devised a truly ingenious plan: distributing complimentary bouquets to both students and faculty members around the campus.
These exquisite blooms, sourced from a local florist, brought a radiant touch to the day and lifted the spirits of my daughter and numerous others on campus.

What to Do with Flowers After an Event
Here are some suggestions for what to do with leftover flowers from an event:
- Let guests take arrangements home with them.
- Make bouquets in various sizes to display around your home.
- Inquire about accepting flower donations with your local hospital, senior living facility, or church.
- Make a wreath or wall hanging out of them.
- Take the time to make your own candles.
- Make jewelry out of the flowers.
- Preserve the flowers by laminating them.
- Make some rose water.
- Make potpourri.
- Donate them to a local food bank or women’s shelter.
