A small ghost poem

Nightly I play hide and seek with an invisible stranger. Hearing a faceless cry right beside me. The make-believe that finds me.

Quietly in the dark. I feel it linger, feel it stare. Denied the slumber I seek? A blindfold can’t cloak this bleak? I’m lost were not welcomed.

Hands touching, gripping, endlessly coming for me. My mind is gradually straying far from escape. I feel feeble, I don’t know how tonight will end. I don’t know how to take back my surrender.
