Inkling Whispers by Francine Fallara

Book Review*

Inkling Whispers is a heartwarming and soul-stirring collection of poems. This book is a treat for all nature lovers because her beautiful words have been perfectly coordinated with breathtaking photos, mostly from Québec. Other places have been represented, as well. According to the author, the Inkling Whispers has been inspired by her photo-walk escapades. Maii Fallara’s illustrations add visual beauty to all the printed pages. The collection is divided into four parts containing 10 to 16 poems in each section.

In the first section, “Escaping the North Pole of Our Lives,” the poetic themes inspire us to be free of darkness and emotional turmoil. My favourite poem in this section is “Move On.” The second section, entitled “Drifting While Healing My Broken Wings,” tackles the themes of survival and the emotions related to moving on to new hopes and dreams. In this section, I specifically loved “Sustain your Bulbs Revive your Heart,”

Step by step, your feet Rose your step ladder to let You save your love light.

Press Play N Strut (section III) ventures deep into the varied emotions of pain and suffering, the agony of loss, journey of perseverance by steering the soul to adjust and shine on new horizons. The poem “Zoetically Vibrant” blew me away for its rhythmic quality.

“Spreading My Wings Rising to Hopeful Beginnings (section IV) has some of the best thought-provoking pieces. The highlights of the themes covered are struggling with internal demons, chalking a new future, overcoming fears, turning negatives into sparkles, and cherishing our inner beauty. Each poem in this section will revive our faith in a bright future.

All of us are trying to establish connections or working to harmonize them. Words are the best way to connect as I feel so connected with the author. She has a fantastic publication on Medium.com, the Blue Insights, through which I had the privilege to read her poetry. Good luck!
