Indulging in Urban Solitude: Me on My Charming Deck in Harlem, NY
September Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Shadows”
Hmmm. Well, these layers are nice.
As summer’s glow begins to gently fade, I lift this cherished picture from its shaded nook. Before the flora graced the deck’s green stage, Before laughter, tales, and family, their presence I forsook.
Alone, I sat upon the weathered wood, Unburdening my winter-weary soul. Inhaling serenity, I understood, The tranquil solace this sacred space could bestow.
The dawn sky, a canvas painted low, Whispered secrets in the fading light. Here, time moved slower, letting worries go, Underneath the sun’s and moon’s shared sight.
This deck, a witness to my silent dreams, A haven where reflection finds its home. In the ebbing summer’s gentle streams, I’ve learned to cherish moments as they roam.
So, as seasons pass and life’s tapestry unwinds, I’ll hold onto this scene, where introspection thrives. Day by day, as memories of all kinds, Blend with the dusk, where the soul truly arrives.
