Indifference and Hope
A love poem
Indifference not hate
Is the opposite of love
It’s the hardest part to bear
When love is no longer there
Where once there were feelings,
touches tender, their gaze
Now all gone, warmth absent, erased
You’re no longer part of their stage
Grieve them yes,
But remember the high points
Their love was real
Hold fast to good memories
Take time the relationship to unpeel
Don’t lose sight of your value
And get ready to welcome in
The next lover who’s coming
bearing new gifts to reveal
Thanks to Joe Luca for his poem Anticipation, and for the tag.
I offer the prompt Acceptance to the following people, and to anyone who wishes to accept it: Caroline de Braganza, Joe Luca, Gurpreet Dhariwal, Marilyn Flower, Chris Hedges, Sherry McGuinn
