It’s very exciting to share with you how I got this well-paid job opportunity as a technical writer.

What would you do if you were on holiday, at the beach in Greece, and some company contacted you to set up a call for a potential collaboration?

That’s literally what happened to me, guys!!!

That was me going back from the beach to the apartment to prepare for the call.

How did I get to that point?

I started writing on Medium around 9 months ago about my journey through Blockchain and Web3 Security.

The main reason why I got a lot of visibility for my articles was because not only because of the material I have been writing for people to use while learning but also, I have been writing about both my wins and the difficult moments I have gone through.

I wrote “Feeling overwhelmed while progressing on Web3 Security? Here’s what you should do” while I had difficulties to keep moving forward on the learning journey of Web3 Security. This had a lot of engagement from people because it is a common situation for those in the field.

Likewise, when I wrote, “How long did it take me to start making money in Web3 Security?”, that was me sharing a big win I wanted to write about. You can imagine that lots of people who are on the same journey as I am would be interested in reaching similar goals.

The main purpose is to write about your journey to help those who are one step behind you and those who have just started.

How did I promote my content?

My journey on Medium went hand-in-hand with my account on Twitter.

I have been active in Elon Musk’s platform since I started learning about Blockchain and Web3 Security so that I could also share my thoughts, ideas, and material that I was finding useful.

So, every time I would write an article I would make sure I shared it on a tweet. Usually, I would create some hype to get people interested and wondering what value they could get from my article.

Like when I created a roadmap on how to become a Smart Contract Auditor, I would give a preview of my content.

This brought a lot of traffic to my Medium account. Those who would need such articles would enter and read them just to benefit from them. But others also would visit my profile to find out who am I and why am I so confident to share such a roadmap.

How did actively connecting with others get me this opportunity?

I do write and create content, but I am a consumer as well. So, I have constantly been using Medium articles to learn new things. It helped me discover very interesting and smart people.

The fact that I write technical articles helps me understand how much work others put into creating very well-structured and useful content. And that believe me it’s a key factor.

Thanks to that I have reached out to those people on their articles in order to appreciate their work. Guys, a simple comment of appreciation goes a long way!

Let’s be more grateful to each other. Shall we?

I would like you to share in a comment if you would like me to write more about my journey into the technical writer job.

If you do, I can then share more tips that have helped me get this opportunity.
