Increase the power of the Lists feature dramatically with a Master TOC, especially if you have dozens or hundreds of stories.
When a new reader goes to your profile, Medium shows up to 5 pinned stories, then the rest in reverse chronological order. It might take an hour to scroll through all of them. Most readers won’t do that.
I built a table of contents, organized into categories, which had to be updated with every new story, still a 20-minute read.
Now, I link category Lists into the Master TOC. Medium creates a photo so I don’t have to find one like with a category story. I can add a new story to a category list and don’t have to change the Master.
